    1st in Global City of the Future

    FDI Magazine chose Seoul as the winning city in its the Global Cities of the Future 2014/15 survey, which compared 130 emerging cities with a GDP per capita below $35,000.

    1st in World e-Government in 2014

    In 2014, Korea topped the World e-Government rankings for the third year in a row, securing its prominent position on the world stage. In the e-Government Survey, the United Nations assesses 190 countries by comparing and ranking their levels of e-government progress.

    5th in the Ease of Doing Business Index

    Korea was ranked fifth out of 189 countries in the Ease of Doing Business Index (Doing Business 2015) published by the World Bank in 2014. Since it broke into the top ten with the eighth-place ranking in 2011, Korea has been rising in this index every year.

    6th in the Global Power City Index

    For two years in a row, Seoul has held sixth place in the Global Power City Index announced by Mori Memorial Foundation in October every year. This index has been published since 2008 and is based on an assessment 40 countries in six categories, including economy, R&D, cultural exchange, and environment.
