Seoul Global Job Fair will be taking place at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) Art Hall 1 on November 10th (Fri). 20 financial institutions including Deutsche Bank, SC Cheil Bank and Bank of China, along with 26 foreign-invested firms including Volvo Korea and Solvay Korea are expected to participate in the Fair.

Seoul Global Job Fair 2017, which is co-hosted by Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) and the Financial Supervisory Service, marks the 5th year of the global fair that aims to provide job opportunities to young talents, while offering global firms operating in Seoul the chance to build an excellent workforce.

Seoul Global Job Fair provides practical information on job openings and interview opportunities for those seeking employment with foreign firms and financial institutions. Since the 1st Seoul Global Job Fair was held in 2013, as many as 200 global firms have participated in the Fair, and almost ten thousand job seekers have received consultations.

The Fair features four zones, including the Employment Zone, which offers customized consultations and interviews; the Seminars Zone, which provides special lectures on finding employment with foreign firms; the Consulting Zone, which provides mock foreign language interviews and interview consultation; and the Information Zone, which provides interview styling and make-up coaching, as well as photo shoots for resumes.

20 foreign financial institutions and 26 foreign invested firms are going to have booths at the Employment Zone, each of which will be staffed by an HR officer who will introduce visitors to the company, provide job information, and interview or provide consultations to job seekers.

Leading consultants on employment with foreign companies will offer their expertise on resume writing, document preparation, and foreign language interview in the Consulting Zone. The programs include Korean, English, and Chinese Resume Clinic, Interview Image Consultation Mock English Interview with Native Speakers, and Styling and Make-up Consultation for Interviews.

Job-seekers who bring their resumes to the Fair will have the opportunity to consult with experts in their targeted field or position, and two career consultants with more than 10 years experience will offer one-on-one consultations and company matching for those who have not yet decided their field of interest.

In addition, the Seoul Job Plus Center will provide information regarding SMGs policies on employment and entrepreneurship, and Seoul Regional Employment and Labor Office will be running a vocational test hall to provide information on vocational aptitude to college graduates.

The city hopes that the job fair will be a great opportunity for young and talented individuals with a global mindset to advance onto the global stage, now that more than ten thousand foreign-invested firms are actively operating in Seoul, exclaimed Dong-rok Suh, Director of Economic Planning Headquarters of Seoul Metropolitan Government. Seoul Metropolitan Government will continue to work in partnership with foreign-invested firms to provide excellent job opportunities.
