City of Seoul to Host China Investment Week in Beijing and Shenzhen, for 160 Chinese Investors

Seoul Metropolitan Government has announced that the city will be hosting ‘China Investment Week’ from July 4th (Tue) to 7th (Fri) with 20 of Korea's leading small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in leading high-tech center Beijing on July 4th and 5th, and in the mecca of entrepreneurship Shenzhen on July 6th and 7th. At this 2nd Chinese Investment Week, SMEs will visit Chinese investors in order to boost economic cooperation between the city and China.

The major programs provided during the four-day event will include:

▲ One-on-one counselling sessions between 20 Korean SMEs in Seoul and around 160 Chinese investors;

▲ Initiatives to promote ooperation between Korea and China for mutual investment and industry promotion; and

▲ Visits to government institutions for discussions regarding expansion to the Chinese market.

 

First, one-on-one counselling session between 20 SMEs and start-ups with competent technology and Chinese investors will be hosted in Beijing and Shenzhen.

 

To practically and effectively support investment attraction efforts during this limited time, one-on-one customized consultation from the city was offered to IT, bioindustry, and green industry companies selected based on investor preference and technology commercialization potential.

 

From the IT industry, ‘Everspin,’ which is the producer of the world’s first dynamic security solution, 'Eversafe,' and ‘DOT’, the developer of the world’s first Braille smart watch for the visually impaired, are participating in the event.

 

‘Protanbio,’ the developer of a low-cost, non-invasive lung cancer diagnosis kit using a blood sample; ‘Zamat Medical,’ the manufacturer of the world’s first integrated filtering needle; and ‘Phyto Corporation,’ a manufacturer of 100% vegetable salt collected from seawater agriculture, are among the participants in the bioindustry.

 

‘Power Republic,’ the owner of wireless power transfer technology (magnetic induction), and ‘Motion Blue’ the developer of ‘Moblo,’ an interactive digital smart block, are also participating in the event.

<City of Seoul to sign MOUs with Chinese International Economic Cooperation and Investment Inc. (July 5th), and Shenzhen Technology Financing Service Center (July 6th)>

Seoul Metropolitan Government is signing an ‘MOU to Facilitate Mutual Investment and Cooperation for Industry Promotion Between Korea and China’ with Chinese International Economic Cooperation and Investment Inc. on July 5th (Wed), and with Shenzhen Technology Financing Service Center on July 6th (Thu), to invigorate economic cooperation and investment between Korea and China, while cultivating bigger global business opportunities for Korean enterprises.

 

※ Chinese International Economic Cooperation and Investment Inc. (CIECI) is a public enterprise that was established with funding from China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in 1984. CIECI currently owns four stock investment companies.

※ Shenzhen Technology Financing Service Center is an institution that was established in 2012. Originally Shenzhen High-tech Industrial Park Service Center, the institution aims to support technology financing, and manages corporate support agencies, including a startup incubation facility.
